We keep a large selection of relevant tourist information brochures in the Foyer for guest use and inspiration.  Depending on the nature of your stay and your objectives , there are numerous opportunities for bonding, Team Building , personal or shared interest activities which can be pursued at the Chateau or are available nearby. Some ideas :-

Relax nearby:

  • wander the 23 hectares of private grounds, or around the village

  • explore one of the of local walks accessible from the chateau ( map)

  • stroll to and along the river, accessed directly from our land

  • borrow a fishing rod, some camp stools and an umbrella

  • bring your easel or camera - subject materia! will invariably present itself

  • take a picnic and find your perfect "spot"

  • try a relaxed game of boules  on the gravel around the chateau (or another game from the trunk of garden games)

  • dip into our DVD library in the chateau

  • catch up on your reading list , inside or out

  • find a spot to just enjoy the wildlife coming and going 


  • visit the  tasting rooms of vineyards along several publicised  "wine routes"

  • borrow one of 2 town bikes, with or without a map or our book of local rides

  • visit the day's local market(s) and sample the produce

  • explore Angers , Le Mans or Saumur for  Architecture, Museums and shopping (Angers Citipass highly recommended)

  • ​visit local producers and sample their produce (fruit, chocolate, wine, liquers, cheese and charcuterie)

  • sample local restaurant menus

  • explore the programmes of Theatre, Music and Opera in Angers

  • visit the annual Musical festival in Sable sur Sarthe

  • wander through horticultural Interest sites (Terra Botanica, Camiflora, famous gardens)

  • Visit one or several of the famous chateaux of the region

  • History & architectural interest  visits (chateaux, museums, troglodyte cave dwellings )

  • Cruise or hire a boat/pedalo  on the Sarthe, Loire or Mayenne

  • Enjoy equestrian interest  visits and  events (Cadre Noir, Haras National de Lion d'Angers, Race meets)



The Chateau is located  where 3 departments meet - Maine et Loire (49), Sarthe (72)  and Mayenne (53) - so 3 different departments meaning 3 sets of resources to explore! The relevant tourist office information websites have lots of ideas and useful information, including interactive maps, to locate activities or locations of interest to you.
