On Site Catering:

Most catering requests  are "do-able" either in- house or via a local Traiteur. We will always  try to accommodate requests, but please remember we are in a very small village without a shop so we do need some notice. Let us know what you are looking for and we will try our very best to meet your requests.

Breakfast: (more

Continental Breakfast is included in our room rates for all our Chambre d'Hote Guests; and is an optional extra for self catering apartment guests.

Cooked breakfast items can be added on request  for a small cost.

Tailored Breakfast arrangements are as specified and agreed for each Chateau "Exclusive use" booking.

Table d'hote: (more)
 35€ /head  (24 hrs notice required)

Evening meals can be pre-ordered by our guests. Example menus here

Your meal will always be freshly prepared especially for you and be  of a similar quality, carefully prepared to meet any allergy requirements or restrictions, using  locally sourced seasonal produce where possible (possibly some from our own grounds if the weather and pests are good to us).

When booking a Table d'Hote meal  it is essential to please advise us of any food allergies, and is also helpful if you can indicate:-

  • the broad style of food you enjoy eating (eg "Plain home cooking- meat & two veg", "focus on local specialities" "Adventurous", "Sophisticated", "Spicy", "something a bit different but not extreme" ); and

  • anything you do not enjoy eating eg snails, shellfish; and

  • foods your party particularly enjoy.

We do want you to enjoy your meal so please do let us know your preferences

 Lunch or Evening Picnics :

These are available with prior notice, cost will reflect you choice of contents. You are welcome to take a picnic into the Chateau grounds with a bottle, or take it out with you on a day trip.

We have a Licence  to sell alcoholic beverages with meals served to our  guests.

Whilst our  Table d'Hote Menu includes an aperitif , and water for the table, it does not include any additional alcoholic drinks. Chris is always delighted to tell you what carefully chosen wines and beers we have in the cellar and help you choose a bottle or two to accompany your meal.

Local Options we can recommend :

Self catering:

Explore the local markets and producers advertising their goods at their farm gates for fresh and delicious local produce for your picnics or self catering meals.

We keep a daily list of markets in the area for reference

There are well stocked supermarkets in Sable and Cheatuneuf. A good variety of freshly prepared items (including chilled  traditional French meals for reheating and hot rotisserie chickens) are available from the Traiteur counters in each supermarket .
